Located at 600’ elevation, River Way Outdoor Education at Wonder Valley is the perfect place to spend time learning about the outdoors and creating new memories.

Our purpose is to challenge individuals and influence the future through educating young people and offering opportunities to gain knowledge than any traditional classroom can offer. As a teacher, we understand your want to find an outdoor education program that will be both fun and beneficial for your students. archery_smWith safety as their top priority, our professional archers instruct students on the history of the bow and arrow, equipment usage, and range policies. Always a favorite, students gain extensive knowledge and training techniques to build their shooting skills.

RocketryStudents will learn concepts of force, momentum, gravity, vectors (i.e. Newton’s laws) and explore speed and velocity. The hands-on class project consists of making rockets out of 2-liter bottles. These rockets will be launched using compressed air and water.

living things1Students will acquire knowledge of the differences and the similarities of many different animals through hands-on exploration of skeletons, skulls, and other visual aids. Students will also learn to identify both predator and prey.
IndianCultureSounds of Native American flutes and the drum rhythms of Mother Earth and Father Sky invite students in to experience the rich history of the Sierra Nevada tribal communities. Hands-on learning will help teach students the different aspects of the various local Native American communities.
