About Us

Thank you for your interest in wanting to be a part of River Way Outdoor Education.  At River Way Outdoor Education, we offer an amazing experience that will not only give your students opportunities for experiential learning in the great outdoors, but will also foster leadership skills, increase self‐esteem, and learn about the importance of teamwork. The majority for our programs run for five days, during which your child will be introduced to familiar topics in exciting new ways. As well as learning more about the outdoors, your child will also develop bonds with other students that will last a lifetime.

For overnight accommodations, Wonder Valley has 68 guest rooms, which can be bunked, dormitory style, six to eight students per room. Part of the 68 guest rooms is a new state-of-the-art hall building.  This building has 14 dorm-style rooms complete with separate female and male corridors. In total our hall facilities can accommodate up to 120 students.  Each corridor of the hall building contains shared restrooms and private shower stalls.  Chaperones may room with students or they may stay in an adjacent room. Each one of the 52 guest rooms is equipped with a private bathroom, heat/air conditioning system, and spacious closets. The Lakeshore Lodge dining facility can comfortably accommodate 300 with a gorgeous view of the lake. Meals are nutritious and all-you-can-eat, served buffet-style.

For 46 years, River Way Outdoor Education has been run and owned by one family. This consistency has allowed River Way Outdoor Education to provide a constantly positive and successful camp experience for everyone.  We have an unmatched safety record because we always put people first.  Strong on family tradition, the Oken family continue to successfully offer programs such as Children’s Summer Camps, Family Camp, and a full service Resort and Conference Center.
